Can I also mount cross-country skis on my Danler sprint sled?<\/strong><\/p>

In principle, of course, cross-country skis can be mounted on any sprint sled. We strongly advise against this for medium-distance sleds, the load is far too high.
If you want to use cross-country skis, you should consider a few things:<\/p>

1. The base is 1 mm thick, our runners have 2 mm bases and therefore double the wear layer. This circumstance alone puts the higher acquisition costs into perspective.<\/p>

2. The pre-tension of our runners is adjusted to the sled, a cross-country ski usually has the pre-tension too far forward.<\/p>

3. Inexpensive cross-country skis also have cheap bases, only the more expensive models have real racing bases.<\/p>

4. The risk of breaking cross-country skis is extremely high. They are designed for cross-country skiing and not for dog sleds with a dog in the sled bag. The more expensive, extremely light skis are particularly affected here.<\/p>

How do I prevent the skid lock from freezing?<\/strong><\/p>

Our runner attachment is the only one on the market that offers a two-point suspension that does not impede the flexibility of the runner. If water gets into the latch, it will freeze the next time it’s used in sub-zero temperatures. A splash of windscreen antifreeze in the bolt guide works wonders here and eliminates the problem for a long time. Please do not use hot water and please do not use force!<\/p>

How do I store the sled in winter?<\/strong><\/p>

It is best to store the sled and runners in an unheated room. With daily use and storage in heated rooms, when snow and ice thaw, the smallest amounts of water can penetrate the screws of the runner and destroy them in the long run. With the slide, the condensation penetrates into the bolt guide, causing it to freeze in the open air.<\/p>

How do I store the sled in the summer?<\/strong><\/p>

Clean the sledge with water and, if necessary, a gentle detergent and store it in a cool, dark room.<\/p>

FAQ’s Model – Odyss MD, Grand Odyss<\/h2>

It is not possible for me to lever the sled onto a skid to drive sideways on a slope, is there a solution?<\/strong><\/p>

With the Odyss MD or Grand Odyss it is not necessary to lever it onto a runner, simply edge it up and hold it or, even better, fix it with the optional locking system. This feature was very important to us in the design, because prying open the heavily loaded sled is almost impossible for many mushers – especially women.
